THE SHAMBALLA TEMPLE

CEREMONIAL PLANT MEDICINES
ABOUT PITT
Born in Australia, Pitt began his spiritual exploration through the body, influenced by the psychological states of long-distance running and an early fascination with Shaolin martial arts.
These disciplines forged an intense period of self-discipline and physical conditioning, revealing the power of directed attention. His interest in kung fu led him to study acupuncture, which opened a lifelong path into Taoist philosophy and Tantric practice.

THE WAY OF ¨ THE WORK ¨

During this time, Pitt encountered the Gurdjieff Work, which naturally introduced him to several Sufi orders and their profound lineages of wisdom. Over the next three decades, he immersed himself in the Mevlevi (the whirling dervishes of Konya), the Naqshbandi, the Nimatullahi Order of Persia, and the Rifa’i Order of Egypt.
Sufism, often regarded as the esoteric dimension of Islam, has roots far older than its formal religious expression — preserving ancient knowledge within the mountainous regions of the Hindu Kush. Within these lineages, Pitt observed subtle traces of entheogenic traditions encoded in the language and symbolism of the esoteric schools, which developed rich psychological and cosmological frameworks still resonant today.
After five years in the Gurdjieff Work, Pitt moved from Australia to the United States to study at a school founded by J.G. Bennett, a devoted follower of G.I. Gurdjieff. There, he learned The Movements — sacred temple dances brought to the West by Gurdjieff. The school maintained close contact with extraordinary teachers such as Muhammad Raheem Bawa Muhaiyaddeen, a Sufi mystic, and Venerable Bhante Dharmawara, a Vipassana monk whose presence left lasting impressions.
YOGA,SOMA &THE PATH OF INTERGRATION

Pitt is a certified 700-hour Yoga Alliance teacher, having studied under Lance Schuler, Glen Ceresoli, and Shandor Remete. Through his yogic studies, he encountered the ancient Vedic concept of Soma, “the drink of the gods,” whose descriptions in the Rig Veda bear a striking resemblance to the visionary medicine of Ayahuasca.
MEETING ¨ THE MEDICINE ¨â€‹

Around fourteen years ago, Ayahuasca found him — as it often does. His first ceremony shattered and reassembled his understanding of existence, igniting a cascade of transformative insights. Years of prior study in Sufism, yoga, and esoteric philosophy became the foundation for his apprenticeship in South American shamanic traditions.
Since then, Pitt has participated in over 150 journeys, apprenticed with a local shaman, and facilitated numerous circles of his own. Now more than 2000 ceremonies later. He continues to travel internationally, guiding ceremonial work and exploring the diverse ways in which Madre is understood and honoured across cultures. His vision is to establish a sanctuary — a living conduit for the transmission of the wisdom now revealing itself in our time.

THE MUSIC OF THE PATH

A lifelong musician, Pitt plays guitar, piano, frame drums, handpan, didgeridoo, flutes, sitar, and more. His music forms an integral part of his ceremonial work, exploring how sound, vibration, and frequency influence consciousness and reconnect us to the sacred.

MESSAGE

We are living in a time when the systems of the old world are dissolving — structures built on the ceaseless enslavement of human time, worth, and spirit. What is emerging is a new world, one founded not on domination, but on life itself.
This birth calls for the way of art — not as ornament or escape, but as the embodiment of all living processes. It asks us to align with the natural rhythm of Pachamamma, to listen rather than to conquer, to create in harmony rather than in haste. Through beauty, skill, and disciplined expression, we can build a world that nourishes both the inner and outer realms — one that spiritualises matter and restores reverence to existence.
Healing, though vital, is not the destination. It is a doorway. Once we have healed, the true task begins — to create, to serve, and to express life in its fullest flowering.
To live artfully is to participate in the sacred renewal of the world.

Blessings on this path of remembrance, creation, and awakening.
